Government of Albania The Government of Albania is the main partner of the United Nations. The One UN Programme supports national priorities and was prepared following consultations with a multitude of partners. Within the overall context of the One UN Programme, which builds on the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2006 – 2010, each agency works closely with government counterparts to provide technical assistance and build capacity in their area of expertise.
The United Nations works with the Government of Albania at both central and local levels. At the central level the partnership includes the Office of the Prime Minister and the President as well as line ministries, Parliament, and other state agencies. Work at the local level is undertaken with regional and municipal authorities.
The Government of Albania invests funds, personnel and in kind contributions to UN funded programmes, demonstrating its ownership of programmes and commitment to results.
The Department of Strategy and Donor Coordination (DSDC) within the Council of Ministers is responsible for social and economic strategy coordination and monitoring, and policy and aid coordination. The DSDC is also the Government`s focal point for the One UN Programme.
