Human Rights In 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [Eng, Alb] which declared that ‘the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world’.
Since then, Albania has recognized human rights in the Constitution and the National Strategy for Development and Integration defines the vision for Albania as:
A country with high living standards, which is integrated in the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, is democratic and guarantees the fundamental human rights and liberties.
