President of the United Nations General Assembly, H. E. Dr. Srgjan Kerim is visitng Albania from 28 to 29 May 2008 by invitation of the Government of Albania.
H. E. Srgjan Kerim began his term as President of the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 18, 2007.
During his visit, Dr Srgjan Kerim will meet with President of the Republic of Albania H. E. Bamir Topi, Speaker of Parliament of Albania Ms. Jozefina Topalli, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania H. E. Sali Berisha, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Albania Ms. Gulden Turkoz-Cosslett and members of the United Nations Country Team in Albania.
Dr. Kerim will exchange ideas on Albania’s experience with the “Delivering as One UN” programme as well as on the priority issues of the 62nd session of the Assembly which include: climate change, the Millennium Development Goals, financing for development, countering terorism and UN reform.
